Taking portraits is something that is way out of my comfort zone. I was able to try new things and see what I could do with children. It was a lot harder to get them to pay attention and really do what I want them to do, however, it helped me learn a lot and start to see how light can really play in their faces in order to make it either better or worse of a photo. It was also harder to work with the light at that time, but it was just the time I had to do it. I also played with the burned border effect to focus on the faces of the people that were in the photos. All in all, this made me want to be so much better at taking portrait photos. Hopefully I will be able to get better in the future!

I just love the picture of the girl in the swing. The blur looks so natural in that picture. The burned edges on the Bannack photo looks really good too.

So when I first went through this post I totally thought the first girl was my sister-in-law, and I had to take a double take. I love the bannack picture and how it looks like the light from the window is really lighting her up. You look like you can really capture the moment and bring emotion to a portrait, which is what make a great photograph.

My favorite is the Bannack portrait. She's just really illuminated with the effects and the lighting. Nice job getting out of your comfort zone.
